This exquisite photograph is from Clifford Ross's Hurricane series, an explosive sequence of photographs taken on the edge of hurricanes. Clifford Ross provides an incredible, heuristic journey, from the ecstatic formalism of ocean waves to the abstract sublime of pure light. The photogravure, Hurricane I, by master printer, Lothar Osterburg, is the striking first image from this series. Hurricane I is offered along with a limited-edition book entitled Wave Music (Aperture 2005) that also features Ross's Horizon and Grain series. Both the photograph and book are signed and numbered by Clifford Ross and enclosed in a specially designed clamshell case.
