Aperture Foundation 60th Anniversary Gala Dinner & Photography Auction - Past Benefit & Auction
Aperture’s 2011 Benefit and Auction took place on October 17, and we were proud to honor Bruce Davidson, a Magnum Photos member and one of America’s most influential photographers; Gerhard Steidl, for his outstanding skill and craftsmanship as a printer and publisher; and Robert Anthoine, Aperture Chairman Emeritus, who has dedicated over thirty years to helping lead Aperture to prominence in the field of photographic publishing.
We are most thankful for our Benefit Cochairs Sondra Gilman, Susan Gutfreund, and Karl Lagerfeld; and our Auction Cochairs Cathy Kaplan, Anne Stark, and Severn Taylor, who made the event a success.
Preceding the Benefit, the Patrons’ Weekend offered special activities including visits to the studios of Bruce Davidson, Doug and Mike Starn, Andrew Moore, and Gail Albert Halaban; exclusive viewings of Celso Gonzalez-Falla and Sondra Gilman’s and Donna Ricco and Tom Puls’s outstanding private collections; and a cocktail reception at the home of Aperture Trustee John Gutfreund and his wife Susan Gutfreund.
