Aperture is delighted to announce a talk and book signing with the legendary photographer, Eikoh Hosoe, following Aperture’s recent publication of the trade edition of Hosoe’s groundbreaking Kamiatachi, and the day before the National Arts Club in New York present him with The Medal of Hono Presentation for Lifetime Achievement in Photography.

During the Aperture event, Hosoe will discuss his work in Kamaitachi, as well as other celebrated series, including Barakei, and Man and Woman; the latter is featured in Aperture’s recently published Japanese Photobooks of the 1960 and ‘70s by Ryuichi Kaneko and Ivan Vartanian. Following his talk, Hosoe will mingle with guests and sign copies of both Kamaitachi and Japanese Photobooks of the 1960s and ‘70s.
