New Limited-Edition Photograph from Michel Campeau

As featured on the cover of Aperture magazine issue 188, Aperture Foundation is now offering an exclusive limited-edition photograph from artist Michel Campeau.
Untitled, from the series Darkroom 2005–2006
This work, which was featured on the cover of Aperture magazine (issue 188 – Fall 2007), is a photograph of the topography found in the often small private spaces of which this series Darkroom 2005-2006 is comprised. Here the Canadian artist Michel Campeau explores traditional photographic spaces, photographing at close range over seventy-five darkrooms in his native Canada. The resulting images are simple yet strong and graphic depictions of an increasingly disappearing environment.
Michel Campeau was born in Canada in 1948. He has been in several group shows and his work is in the collection of the National Gallery of Canada – Ottawa. His series Darkroom, is the first book in a series edited by Martin Parr, for Nazraeli Press. Campeau’s work will also be included in a group show titled New Typologies, curated by Martin Parr and debuting at the New York Photo Festival May 2008.
