One of today’s most prolific masters, American artist Richard Misrach is internationally renowned for his carefully considered, beautifully rendered epic works. Coinciding with his exhibition at the National Art Gallery and the release of the accompanying, lavishly produced Aperture monograph of the same title, Misrach will discuss work from Richard Misrach: On the Beach, which hones in on our delicate relationship to the sea. Dramatically scaled at 6 x 10 feet—and shot from above—the photographs balance minutiae of human gesture against the vastness of the sea and envelop the viewer with a strangely disorienting perspective.

Richard Misrach is represented by Fraenkel Gallery, San Francisco, Marc Selwyn Fine Art, Los Angeles and Pace/MacGill Gallery, New York.
