Join internationally acclaimed artist Paolo Ventura for a show-and-tell with Aperture editor Denise Wolff in a unique presentation on Ventura's new book, Winter Stories. A beautiful and enchanting volume limited to two thousand copies, Winter Stories presents Ventura's imaginative series of photographs depicting scenes from the memory bank of a fictional circus performer as he looks back on his life. A master of narrative staged photography, Ventura brings his imagined stories to life by building three-dimensional sets in miniature. Ventura will display many of his elaborate handmade sets, drawings, ephemera, and personal collections, sharing stories from the book and his life. He will also be available to sign copies of this just-released publication.

PAOLO VENTURA (born in Milan, 1968) studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan in the early 1990s. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at Forma International Center for Photography, Milan; Rencontres de la Photographie, Arles, France; Fotomuseum Den Haag, the Hague, Netherlands; and Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris. Ventura is represented by Hasted Hunt, New York. He lives in New York City.
