Photography Changes Everything by Marvin Heiferman

Photography Changes Everything—a project drawn from the online Smithsonian Photography Initiative—is a unique text from curator and writer Marvin Heiferman that considers the history, practice, and power of photography at this transitional moment in visual culture.

On Wednesday, October 17, in partnership with ACAC, Marvin Heiferman will be discussing this project—as well as the contributed texts from experts, writers, inventors, and public figures, including Hugh Hefner, John Baldessari, John Waters, Robert Adams, and many others—as part of the Atlanta Celebrates Photography Knowledge Series. In dialogue with ACAC artistic director Stuart Horodner, Heiferman will offer an overview of the publication’s focus—how photographs shape our understanding of ourselves and the world.
