The Fund for Aperture Magazine supports one of the Foundation’s core programs, the award-winning quarterly journal which has fostered both the development and appreciation of photography and its practitioners for almost sixty years.

Aperture Fund for Classics

The Fund for Classics is committed to reviving iconic works that have shaped the history of photography, introducing them to a new generation. Previously revived classics include Robert Adams’s Summer Nights, Walking and William Klein’s Rome.

Aperture Fund for Emerging Artists

The Fund For Emerging Artists reaffirms Aperture’s commitment to discovery and celebrates new and visionary photographers. Over the years, Aperture has published first books by many artists who went on to make major contributions to the medium, including Diane Arbus, Katy Grannan, Stephen Shore and Nick Wapplington.

In Fall 2010, Aperture will reissue two seminal publications in paperback: Light Matters, a selection of essays and criticism by Vicki Goldberg, and Fred Ritchin’s In Our Own Image, a classic account of technology’s impact on what we see and believe.

The Aperture Fund for Contemporary Masters is dedicated to presenting the latest works by eminent photographers working today

In Fall 2010, Aperture will publish Kodachromes, a publication featuring stunning and little-known work by master photographer William Christenberry; Sally Mann: The Flesh and The Spirit, the first comprehensive survey of Mann’s fearless exploration of the human form; Richard Misrach’s Destroy This Memory, an affecting reminder of the impact of hurricane Katrina as told by those on the ground through graffiti messages.
